If you read Part 1 you know that my friend Maria and I had gone to the Walker Homestead’s garden party to visit Kris & Doreen.
After visiting with them for a bit, Maria then suggested that we have our lunch over at the
Salem Cross Inn
in W. Brookfield, MA.
This magnificent Inn has been beautifully restored by the Salem family.
When we pulled into the driveway, I was in such awe over the rolling green hills, and the cows peacefully grazing in the pastures. This was the perfect backdrop for this historical yellow colonial…I felt as if I stepped back in time.
Just as good as the scenery looked…the meal was even better!
“Get to know what good is!”
I’m looking forward to going back again, this time with my husband. I was imagining that one day one of my own children would have a wedding there…♥
Okay a girl can dream right??
Maria & I hit the road again, we then stopped at
The Rusty Roosta
http://www.therustyroosta.com/
also in W. Brookfield.
There’s a lot of eye-candy in
Jack & Paula Fisher’s shop!
Look how beautiful the front of their home is all done up in patriotic bunting.
They were recently featured in the winter issue of
Country Sampler Magazine
We then made one final stop at a very beautiful, old abandoned church on the water.
It was so serene…
We set aside Memorial Day
Each and every year
To honor those who gave their lives
Defending what we hold dear.
In all the dark and deadly wars,
Their graves prove and remind us,
Our brave Americans gave their all
To put danger far behind us.
They made the ultimate sacrifice
Fighting for the American way;
We admire them and respect them
On every Memorial Day.

Have a very safe Memorial Day & remember those who are no longer with us. ♥

I got married at Salem Cross Inn and it was gorgeous! I highly recommend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I did married at the Salem Cross Inn and it was a perfect day. Not only was it a lovely setting, but the food was awesome and the Salem family was very accomodating and generous. We eat there on our anniversary every year and take some time to enjoy the gardens and the view. I feel blessed to live in such a lovely part of the world and your pictures capture it so well.
