My husband and I got up early today and headed out to a Christmas tree farm that I had heard about from a friend. My family and I had always gone to one particular farm in the area but the prices were getting steeper by the year. This farm ( which is a local best kept secret ) has trees for only $ 20!, yup $ 20!! You tag it then go back in December and cut it down.
The gate opened up at 9:00 promptly and the crowd of hearty New Englanders sprinted across the fields like frolicking children to quickly claim their own tree!
It was a lot of fun!

This is a great way to get the tree, We went in freezing weather,
ReplyDeleteI was so cold any tree would do and it was $40. Next year I bought a silk one.
Now all I do is make garlands for inside. That look's so much fun. As usual a day late and dollar short.
Hi Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of you standing proudly beside your tree! Will be fun to find out if you and family just walked out to cut down the tree, or if you plowed out in a foot or so of the fluffy stuff! Let us know! The saying by Burton Hills is precious - TFS.
It was such a pleasure for me to meet you in person at the Walker Homestead last September. I'm still basking in the memories of your gracious warmth. I am the gal from Southern California that so wishes she lived in New England! Until next time, Cheryl (allthingscolonial@hotmail.com)
