Once again my sister and I went to the enchanting little red cottage that sits nestled in the woods high up on a hill to enjoy a gourmet lunch!
I always enjoy coming here because it’s not only a food experience, the gardens that surround Pickity Place are beautiful to stroll around in as well.
The cottage (built in 1786) was used by
Elizabeth Orton Jones
to illustrate her version of the book
Little Red Riding Hood
The menus change monthly.
April
St. Tropez Garlic Dip
Spring Vegetable Soup w/Brown Rice & Tarragon Drizzle
Baby Red Bliss Potato Salad w/Roasted garlic and Dijon Dressing
Rosemary and Provencal Oil infused
Sourdough Bread
Chicken, Apple and herbed Brie in Pastry
— or —
Slow Roasted Vegetable Tart
Asparagus w/Citrus butter
Caramel Macchiato Cheesecake
It was as good as it looked!

After our heavenly lunch we drove through M ason, NH.
We stopped to watch some wild turkeys in a field.
Then we stopped at a very old graveyard and walked around. There was NOT a sound to be heard as we sauntered around, not a bird chirping, no wind rustling the trees, no car sounds, or lawnmower sounds, not even a plane…dead silence…
We drove a bit further down the road and stopped at Uncle Sam’s home, yes there really was an Uncle Sam!, and this was his home. The beautiful white colonial home next to it is for sale, hmmm wouldn’t you just love to say you live next door to Uncle Sam?
New England is such a beautiful place to live. ♥
Blessings, Bonnie

ReplyDeleteI LOVE New England!! I am lucky enough to live in a place where we can get to New England in a short amount of time. My ancestors from Sweden and Scotland settled in Maine and Mass. -- and I have some cousins still living in the area.... I have found through your blog many places I will want to visit... Pickity is definitely one!! Looks like you and your sister had a wonderful day and a delicious lunch!! Lucky you!!
