Murals~”Don’t be afraid to paint!”

~*~

I’ve been in many beautiful homes with these gorgeous Rufus Porter (folk art) style murals. Thinking it would be too expensive to have a professional artist come in and do one for me…I then put the thought out of my head.

Recently I was over my good friend’s home (Maria Cardillo), and as I was admiring her mural and sighing, my daughter who was standing next to me then said to me “ I can do that, I’ll paint one for you.” A rush of happiness came over me!

The next day we headed to Michaels http://www.michaels.com/ craft store and bought an assortment of acrylic paints and brushes.

Ashley then painted on paper a rough sketch of her design, soon after the painting began.

I love it even more knowing that my daughter painted this for me.

The one thing about paint is this…it’s just paint, if you don’t like it, you can always paint over it!

Don’t be afraid to paint!

Blessings, Bonnie

  19. Beautiful Painting! She has done a wonderful mural. I think if you have any amount of craftiness in you and some confidence you can master almost anything. My motto is "just do it". and like you say "it`s just paint". I would like to do a mural for my daughter but with the Adirondack theme. Mountains and lakes. Keep that positive attitude Ashley, It pays off!
