Happy December 1st!

 Christmas!

“The very word brings joy to our hearts.  No matter how we may dread the rush, the long Christmas lists for gifts and cards to be bought and given - when Christmas Day comes there is still the same warm feeling we had as children, the same warmth that enfolds our hearts and our homes.”

~Joan Winmill Brown

Yesterday we made the trip to the Christmas tree farm to cut down our tree. My son was working so it was just my hubby, my daughter, our dog Harley and myself. I look forward to this tradition that we do each year.

We came home and decorated the tree and then my daughter got a little crafty. She made mason jar Christmas globes, gingerbread houses with her boyfriend, and then she made Christmas sugar cookies! I love this time of year!, the house seems to be filled with December magic!

An Old Fashioned New England Christmas

"When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things - not the great occasions - give off the greatest glow of happiness."
~ Bob Hope

~*~

Yesterday my husband and I had the pleasure of going to the Walker Homestead’s

Old Fashioned New England Christmas by the Hearthside, hosted by Paul & Kris Casucci.

The fire was crackling, the hot cider was mulling, Christmas music was filling the air and Father Christmas was doing what he does best!

Among the special guests were Primitives by Maria, Storybook Author Mark Kimball Moulton,  Pied Potter Hamelin & Kulina Folkart and of course our beloved Father Christmas!
