My Shares!

When I really like something I get  a little passionate about it! I have a few websites, blogs & food  that  I’ve fallen in love with and would love to share them with you!

The first “share” will be of a new magazine set to debut this fall. I could get lost in the beautiful photography here…

folk

“We are a magazine that debuts Fall 2011. We are all about the country, sweet tea, indie music, antiques, road trips, small towns, comfortable homes, artists, locally grown and locally made, one-of-a-kind art, open spaces, photography, and the little things”

Doesn’t this sound enticing?

I would like to wish them all the best on their new endeavor!

They also have a blog, become a follower!

My next “share” is a blog from a fellow New Englander called

“A New England Life”

A New England Life 1

You’ll enjoy being whisked away to New England with her gorgeous photos!

My last share is of the food kind!

Grilled Asparagus with Orzo

asparagus salad

This is a summer favorite of mine. I first had it over at my niece’s home several summers ago, it’s delicious and very easy to make.

All you need to do is cook the orzo according to the instructions, then rinse under cold water. Meanwhile grill the fresh asparagus ( I baste it with olive oil & garlic powder).

Add  about 3/4 of a  bottle of any Greek Salad dressing to the orzo,  then add the grilled asparagus,  some sliced cherry tomatoes, and  lastly some feta cheese.

You can also add black olives to this .

I hope you enjoy these shares!

The Little Red Cottage

Over the river and through the woods,  over the border,  and over the hills of Southern New Hampshire my mother, sister, and & I went to…

Pickity Place

Since 1786 our quaint little red cottage has graced the hills of southern New Hampshire, seemingly untouched by time. This enchanting cottage was chosen by Elizabeth Orton Jones as the model for her illustrations in Little Red Riding Hood Little Golden Books, 1948.”

An excerpt from their website.

We  had 5-course delectable gourmet luncheon complimented with savory herbs and edible flowers grown and harvested from their very own culinary garden.

I spied groups of women, mothers & daughters, grandmothers & granddaughters all nestled in, having lunch in the little red riding hood house.

I can see why Elizabeth was inspired by this quaint cottage. If I use my imagination, I can see the big bad wolf  peering around this massive tree!

Through the Lens

Through the lens this week…the rain has finally stopped, and the sun has poked it’s head through the clouds, phew summer is here! The rambling New England countrysides are so green & lush after the rain.

I think this gourd could use a fresh coat of paint, but the current residents don’t seem to mind this chippy look.
